Back on November 4th, public radio’s Tom Banse reported on the even-then “trembling voice” of Governor Gregoire. Then he turned to quote the head of the Washington Roundtable, a lobby group/social club for bigwig CEOs:
“I think the message is very clear. The voters of Washington would like the legislature to prioritize the services that are most critical, particularly those areas that will encourage job growth over time. And we need to give up on the notion that there’s a silver bullet.”
(Emphasis ours.) Given the fair assumption that there are close ties of interest binding the Washington Roundtable to undead consultants like Silver Bullet LLC, and it seems we have clear evidence of a move by the corporate class of our state to pre-emptively surrender to the werewolf rising without even using our greatest weapon.
Is our conclusion correct? We don’t know yet, but it’s safe to say that we’ll have more info — and more of a scare — 6 days from now, when the full moon rises over Olympia, and the howling begins.
